PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE

2016 Goals
  • Increase Promotion Committee participation by 50% within one year.
  • Recruit four (4) new Jazz Collective members per quarter and facilitate membership renewals.
  • Develop and recruit six (6) Corporate and or Event Sponsors within one year.
  • Innovate and expand on our fundraising activities by executing one fundraising activity per quarter.
  • Seek Board consideration and approval to co-sponsor a monthly two hour master band jazz class. The purpose of this class would be to develop new and existing musicians to support our volunteer Jazz Jams and other volunteer performance events
  • Seek Board consideration and approval to join the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of this annual membership would be to connect the Jazz Collective to the business community and develop our name branding strategy.

Current Projects and Task Leaders
  • Design and create business cards : Designed, implementation approval is pending.
  • FJC promotional merchandise : Designed FJC promotional apparel that can be sold at FJC events on a regular basis as a fundraiser..
  • Committee Member recruitment : Recruited many new members.
  • FJC Member recruitment : Recruited many new members, and collected more than $200.00 in donations for the FJC.
  • Update our Music Business database : Began the process of updating the database, i.e., bands, musicians, music instructors, videographers etc...
  • Establish a relationship with the Richmond Jazz Society by scheduling a meeting and define what each organization gets out of the relationship. Report results to the Committee no later than Sept. 5th: Harold.
  • Create a space on the FJC website for Sponsors to recognize businesses that Sponsor the FJC with funding, a product or service: IT Committee: DONE.
  • Seek a future performance opportunity at the Spotsylvania Towne Center Mall : Gerard: DONE.
  • Meet and greet process : Designed process for the FJC Jam session and other events to provide a warm welcome to all attendees.
